Intan Paramaditha received her B.A. (University of Indonesia, 2001) and M.A. (University of California, San Diego, 2007) in English Literature. She received her Ph.D from the Department of Cinema Studies, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University (2014), with a dissertation on film, activism, and sexual politics in post-authoritarian Indonesia. She is interested in how media are deployed for cultural activism, sexual politics in the public sphere, nation and transnationalism, and secularism and religion.
